The fourth edition of International Fair in Bucharest - Bookfest - will host traditional editorial events, concerts and film screenings, including a selection of the 2009 TIFF(Transilvania International Film Festival ).
Bookfest aims to keep up the joy of books to readers, creating the opportunity of meeting with the most famous writers, holding open debates on issues brought to the attention of their most recent appearances and their most popular volumes. Bookfest is a project initiated by the Publishers Association of Romania, which was founded in 1991 and is the main professional association of book publishers in Romania, bringing together editors from all areas of cultural interest. Among the movies shown this year at the Transilvania International Film Festival (TIFF), nine films will be presented. These include Swedish drama Involuntary, awarded to Geneva, Brussels and Stockholm, Icelandic movie White Night Wedding, inspired by a piece written by Chekhov, and Terribly Happy, made by two movie lovers. Bookfest will be held during 17-21 June in the Romexpo Complex - Bucharest - pavilions 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17. Organisers estimated that due to ongoing large space, the number of titles of books exhibited at this year's edition will be more than 25,000.
