It took seven years of reflection on Henry Selick to complete his draft on the big screen adaptation of the bestseller Coraline by Neil Gaiman. The author of The Nightmare Before Christmas is an obsessive perfectionist.
For the sixteen year-relentlessness in featuring films in, we must acknowledge that our moviemaker does not return at all costs. And he is right. Leaving the room, we are prone to crying to his masterpiece. His film - the 3D animation is a marvellous invention and a profound reflection on the relationship between parents and children. A young girl walks through a secret door in her new home and discovers an alternative version of her life. On the surface, this parallel reality is eerily similar to her real life - only much better. But when her adventure turns dangerous, and her counterfeit parents (including Other Mother) try to extend their dominance over her forever, Coraline feels compelled to count on her resourcefulness, determination, and bravery to get back home - and save her family Left alone, the girl entered the room and discovered a door which leads convicted in "another world", where everything seemed wonderful. Coraline is surprised, however, that her "parents" had buttons instead of eyes. Coraline is a track staged for theater for youth in Sweden, an adjustment in the format of a graphic novel and an off-Broadway musical. The 3D gives you the feeling that anything can become possible. Flowers that opened under Coraline's feet, landscapes drowned in white smoke that almost get lost. It would be hard not to be fascinated by the perspective of passing to another world through a corridor. With a certain virtuosity, an estimated budget of $ 60 million, 130 sets, a team of 70 people dedicated to animation in stop motion 28 to 20 figures cm, Henry Selick won his bet with flying colors. His film, a poetic variation around Alice in Wonderland, is magic, with this extra size conferred by the 3D. Masterpiece of fantastic poetry, with a foible for philosophical insertions, the movie remains a milestone in the field of animation. Youtube Trailer - Coraline Films
